- Ronald Fryklund
March 1, 1941 - November 25, 2017
Ron passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017. He was born on a farm outside Kindersley, SK, and moved to Moose Jaw with his family when he was a young boy. He went on to find fulfillment doing Social Work in his younger years, and then later in the Commissionaires until his retirement. He always cared deeply about those he interacted with and considered a friend; he would always speak positively about those who had impacted his life. Ron had excellent recall and loved to tell stories. As a Bridge Life Master, he could remember bridge hands from 30+ years ago, and would delight in telling you stories about his favorite game. His proudest moment was when he became a father to Kristina (Krissy). She was his "puffin". He loved to take her for pizza and to the movies. They would often go on day trips to Regina, and every summer they would go to Calgary to visit Ron's maternal Aunt Effie. He always tried his hardest to ensure Krissy had a relationship with his side of the family, including his Aunt Ursula Fryklund, her son Grant, and Grant's children Kasia, Tessa, Zoe, and Leif. Ron was predeceased by his mother Jean and his father Stanley. He is survived by his daughter Krissy, and his brother Keith. In keeping with Ron's wishes, there will be no service, but there will be a small family gathering in the Spring, on his birthday, at the family homestead by Kindersley. Thank-you to everyone who was part of his "Sunday Group at 9," he loved and depended so much on the support there everyone provided to him. Also, thank-you deeply to Paul Marcil, who was his best friend. Thank-you Paul for always looking out for Ron, your friendship meant everything to him. Inlieu of flowers, monetary and clothing donations can be made to Extendicare in Moose Jaw, where Ron's brother Keith lives.Good-bye to a Father, Brother, Son, and Friend. You will always be missed and forever remembered. In living memory ofRonald, a memorial tree planting will be made by JONES Funeral Home.
